Successful Treatment of Tuberculosis Combined With Rifampicin Induced Interstitial Nephritis: A Case Report

A 61-year-old man was admitted to our hospital on September 2021 because of a three-month history fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss. The patient had been diagnosed with organized pneumonia treated methyl prednisolone at local hospital. One week before presentation hospital, he developed fever, cough, sputum shortness breath. Upon admission acid-fast resistant bacteria (ARB) urine ARB were positive mycobacterium tuberculosis cultured. With the diagnosis drug-sensitive pulmonary urinary tuberculosis, treatment consisting isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol pyrazinamide started. After two months, his symptoms not improved nausea vomiting. At next visit renal function tests further increased. He taken for emergency dialysis. Diagnosis interstitial nephritis made by kidney biopsy, which considered have due use rifampicin. Rifampicin discontinued added. new drug regimen arranged as moxifloxacin, ethambutol, cycloserine. Cycloserine tremors prothionamide When drug-induced hepatitis developed, subsequent changed levofloxacin, pyrazinamide. months. Currently, has taking stated above 4 months without any problems it is scheduled be completed in 12
